Ashley Homm does not remember exactly how old she was when she decided to become a veterinarian. “I just remember being a kid and wrapping my grandmother’s cat in ace bandages,” said Dr. Homm, who joined Brownsburg Animal Clinic as an associate in March 2016.
As a native of Lexington, Kentucky, she grew up training, showing and working with horses. She worked as a veterinary technician, starting at age 16. “I grew up with cats, too, and Labrador retrievers–lots of black Labs,” she said.
In 2007, Dr. Homm completed her undergraduate degree in animal sciences and biology with high honors at the University of Kentucky.
She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree with highest honors at Auburn University in 2011.
Dr. Homm was certified as an Animal Chiropractor in 2013.
Her professional experience includes two internships and three years as an associate at a combination equine and small animal practice.
Dr. Homm and her husband Daniel have a young daughter, Madison. The family has three horses.
The Homms are expecting their second child in August. Dr. Homm will return from maternity leave in November, when she will work three days a week.
